Nah I guess people just react differently to different things. I'm a big Aronofsky fan and his imagery always strikes me, so maybe that's that

Also, the Da Vinci code was actually pretty troutty in its own right. I never found it blasphemous or anything. Just badly written. If it weren't for its "scandalacious" nature, it probably never would've gained such notoriety.
