So he was probably exaggerating about his mother too.
So he was probably exaggerating about his mother too.
Actually, there is. A lot of the flashbacks are warped distorted. Or not even flashbacks, but dreams/imaginings. Such as the whole Yuna/Rikku one that Jecht interrupts early on. All that the flashback really gives us is how Tidus perceived the events, not necessarily how they actually happened.
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.
He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.
The only logical evidence shows that his mom wasn't a very good mom.
Anything else is just the realm of fan-fiction.
...
That dream sequence is the only one like it in the entire game. The other flashbacks he has of Jecht are:
1. Calling him out on his drinking - Auron confirms Jecht was indeed an alcoholic
2. Jecht telling him he couldn't do the Jecht Shot and laughing at him.
I see no reason to doubt 2 at all.
So you're saying the entire revelation that his daddy issues are really mommy issues is wrong? The point is proven enough when she chooses to DIE rather than live on with her son. The woman was hopelessly dependent on Jecht and loved him much more than her own child. The revelation on The Farplane confirms this even more.
And she turned into an ugly fish.
