>>> Why is so expensive?
Does it taste any good?
Anybody here has eaten caviar?
It is somewhat difficult to farm so amounts are somewhat sparse, so there is a supply and demand thing. "Better" fish are more in demand, so prices go higher. You can buy cheaper caviar from lesser fish, but types like Beluga are far more pricey.
It's seen as a luxury because of this scarceness, so prices go even higher. Same with particular types of truffle. Seasonal and difficult to farm while still maintaining quality.
I haven't tried caviar but I imagine it's luxuriousness and relative rareness are part of the experience. It's not just a flavour thing. If you're eating something and it's portrayed to be a special event, and you believe it without cynicism, you're going to enjoy it more.
I like it with sushi! I wouldn't eat it by itself, I don't think.
You can get low-grade ground-up cheap caviar in scandinavia, but it's probably not fit for restaurants.
everything is wrapped in gray
i'm focusing on your image
can you hear me in the void?
Caviar's tasty. I doubt I've ever had the expensive stuff - I've never bought it specifically, only had it at buffets and weddings and such - but it's got a rich, slightly fishy taste and a kind of berry-with-seeds texture. Some sushi stores sell a similar dish which is, I believe made from salmon roe and is typically bright orange in colour, which is still tasty but with a somewhat different flavour and texture.
I've had fisheggs with sushi but I think caviar comes from a specific fish
Kefka's coming, look intimidating!
Have a nice day!!
I like caviar. It is tasty.
And it comes in a tube. Not that similar to "real" caviar, but good in its own way.

I've never tried caviar but eating the unborn sounds pretty metal.
e; no I lie, I had Ikura on some sushi once, it was great.
