I think it would be really interesting to do a mime-like character, but do it like Ditto. Basically, you'd go into the battle and copy one of the enemy characters and their abilities. I don't know how it would work with equipment, but it would just be a cool, versatile character to use.
Necromancer!
A dedicated Blue Mage would be great in the original FFT. I'm skeptical about mixed job classes (i.e., Red Mage), because you can already have a black mage/priest combo, which would be even stronger in all departments.
