Barret would probably make an interesting addition. Imagine a more light-hearted but still gruff and tough version of him reacting to all the loony 16-bit craziness.

Actually, they should just make The Adventures of Barret and Cid, where they wind up visiting and saving every FF world. Come on, that's a way cooler idea than Kingdom Hearts.
