This one I have to give to FF IX. The Airship, Hilda Garde is hands down my favorite airship theme in the series.

I'll have a listen to more of them when I can, but Final Fantasy VII's and Final Fantasy VIII's Airship Theme's are the ones I will always remember most fondly, I don't know if it's a nostalgia thing as well, but I also like how they sound, but both compliment each other, as nostalgia doesn't have true strength without it being something you liked, right?
What I really like though, is that if you listen to it - FFVIII's Airship Theme kind of sounds like the "sequel" of sorts to FFVII's, in that they actually sound similar in places. Which gave me a kind of nostalgic feeling towards FFVII when I played this section of FFVIII for the first time.

FFIX's Hilda Garde theme reminds me of the end of A Neverending Story. It's just so happy and adventurous and la la lala la la.

The answer is FFVII's without a shadow of a doubt. I mean there are others I love but no sorry VII has the best airship theme by light years.
Finally found an online version of the Airship theme from Final Fantasy II. It was an unreleased track, so I wasn't sure if it counted. It is still quite nice, and I figured it should be put up here.

I have to say it's IX's "Hilda Garde 3" theme. It just gave you that wonderful feeling of freedom and adventure.
FFVIII is second on my list. But FFIX Hilda Garde's theme is the best for sure
