My Killer Hound somehow taught itself to use Stone Fang in the middle of battle seemingly at random. I've come to realise the official strategy guide is rubbish because it has no information on why this happened. Does anyone have any insight?

My Killer Hound somehow taught itself to use Stone Fang in the middle of battle seemingly at random. I've come to realise the official strategy guide is rubbish because it has no information on why this happened. Does anyone have any insight?

Creatures learn skills like Blue Magic. Enemies need to use moves of similar type on the fiend.
Examples: Machina Panzer learns Sorcery Ray upon being hit by Sorcery Ray or high level magic. Garik learns Mighty Guard if you use a curtain or cast Shell/Protect on him.
Every creature has a set list of abilities they can learn, and for some they need to be at a sufficient level. I think Chocobo has to be Level 40+ before it can learn Meteor, for instance.
Is this list available anywhere for viewing online? For example, how did you come to find this out and why don't I know about it?

Well, it was in the tutorial. Of course, no one reads those, except for me and Karifean, apparently :P
There's a list of what fiends list learn what skills under what conditions in the tutorial? Well now I feel silly... lol
