They're ok. I was close with a couple of them, but they've since left and we don't really keep in contact much.

I'm pretty bored of my job though, so I'll probably quit soon.

My team is wicked awesome except for this one guy who chews his food louder than my noise-cancelling in-ear headphones with hard trance music on high volume can drown out.

In my experience if you work somewhere where anyone can be hired, anyone will be hired.

Time to get out of retail.

A few conversations you overhear in the break room can be amusing, though. Low-level managers gossiping about how none of the hourly workers are qualified to do their prestigious job. Everyone trying to work how much their job sucks into their conversation, while at the same time being totally oblivious about what that statement says about them and their life decisions. Good times.

Where I work it's pretty much the same, & I'm in an office.

On a personal level I like all of my coworkers. Some of them are really not good at their jobs though, the worst being the one who is actually pretty efficient when she focuses on one or two things at a time, but she multitasks so much at once that it gets to a point where she's not getting anything done at all, and instead has dozens of unfinished tasks lying around getting in everyone's way. She complains, saying she's working twice as hard and getting berated while another coworker who doesn't work as hard is praised, well, that particular coworker is actually getting a lot more done than she is and doesn't make us all fall behind. She tries hard, she really does, but nothing gets done right when she's left to her own devices.

I get along with everyone at my work without any real difficulty.

That being said, I think I may be the problem coworker at time. What I am about to say only applied when I was on first shift.

I have a problem with some of the nitpicky rules. Out in the shop, you aren't allowed to wear headphones. Makes sense. You can't have forklift drivers or people wandering around heavy and dangerous machinery blasting the latest hip hop in their ears.

However, part of my job requires the use of a computer that is in a penned in area of the shop. I asked if I could use headphones only at my desk, but they said that you can only use a radio or something to listen to music. Fair enough.

I now blast metal whenever I can. It's not overly loud (the iPod radio really can't be heard well across a shop floor even if I had the volume on max). Oh sure, I listen to all sorts of music, but now EVERYONE gets to enjoy the likes of Between the Buried and Me, Opeth, and a host of other bands that no one can stand listening to because the radio didn't tell them it was cool.

There is an older lady that sits a couple desks down from me. I know it annoys her, and I know it annoys a couple of the mangers. Every single time I get a "you're listening to music I don't like" look I always say, "Sorry! I would LOVE to use headphones, but I can only hear my music at this volume with all these machines running!"

Yes, I know I am being a colossal dick for doing this. But if my company is incapable of using basic logic instead of blindly enforcing the rules on everyone (especially since there are people who badly try to sneak using headphones WHILE ON FORKLIFTS and I get shut down for having the courtesy to ask), then too bad. Enjoy my noise music.

Working in an office, you really get an overwhelming sense of human tragedy along with the all too common stench of putrefying souls.

I keep telling myself that I actually enjoy working in this environment... but I just can't silence that little voice in my head that wants to kill the gormless, bonk-eyed f*** that sits across from me slurping his coffee.

I think it says a lot that the first thing I do when I get back from holiday is open my little spreadsheet detailing all the ways in which my fellow colleagues should die.

I get along with pretty much everyone at work. We're Facebook friends and we chat the day away while we work, but it's rare that we hang out after our shifts end. It happens on occasion, just not often. It's a massive workplace and there are a lot of people outside of my department I happen to pass by in the street every now and then and they're always up for a quick catch up when I do.

Overall it's just a good, friendly place to work and I do enjoy it - but I don't like to take my work home with me. I see them more often than I see my wife during some weeks! So I keep it to about 4-5 nights out per year which are always fun, but any more than that would be a sense of obligation and that's where it becomes pointless. A few of my team do it more often than I do as they all play golf, and I'd probably be out there with them as we all get along great, but there's that tiny little issue: I have zero interest in golf, let alone money for it. xD

I work at a games company, so that carries it's own drama from time to time. For some people here, considering the department I'm in, it's their first ever job and they aren't very professional at all. Then there's also people who nearing their 40s too.

That being said, everyone on my team I get along with and there are only a handful of people, out of the 300 or so in the building we're based in, that I have any major dislike toward.

Due to shift work though, we don't really do much together outside of work. Occasionally we'll have some nights out here and there, but nothing major - especially as lot of the people around my age or older are getting married and settling down with children now.

They see me rolling. They hating, patrolling.
Trying to catch me riding dirty.
