Moogle What do you feel is FFIII's impact on the series?

I always feel bad about this entry, cause it seems like know one ever wants to talk about based on how few responses I get in the threads I make for it. Granted, I'm sure several people on this forum have probably just not played it but others seem uttlery indifferent to it.

So let's discuss this games legacy for a bit to see if we can't uncover some merit for this title. What do you feel is this game long term impact on the franchise as a whole?

I think it's one of the lesser known titles in the series given that it wasn't officially released to English speaking regions until the DS remake. By this point the game design was pretty archaic, which probably made it hard to get into.

As for it's impact on the series, it was the true pioneer of the Job System which is still going strong 20 or so years later. I'm not sure how successful this game was in Japan at the time of it's release but you have to wonder; would they have built on the Job System in future titles if this game flopped?

The whole job system mechanic, of course.
