Then there's "I'm looking for a lover who won't blow my cover," from the Eagles (actually Jackson Browne), and "I been given just a minion, I been walkin' that there line" from Kid Rock. Even the Beatles are no exception, but they always manage to pull stupid songs into the realm of greatness.

Take, "Oh, Darling," (which I love) for example:

Oh, Darling
Please believe me
I'll never do you no harm
Believe me when I tell you
I'll never do you no harm

Oh, Darling
If you leave me
I'll never make it alone
Believe me when I beg you
Don't ever leave me alone

WHEN YA TOLD ME
YOU DIDN'T NEED ME ANYMORE
WELL, YOU KNOW, I NEARLY BROKE DOWN AND CRIED
WHEN YA TOLD ME
YOU DIDN'T NEED ME ANYMORE
WELL, YOU KNOW, I NEARLY FELL DOWN AND DIED

...And so on. Just reading the lyrics, they sound dumb and cliche...

But then you listen to the song...

And suddenly these stupid lyrics make perfect sense...can't explain it.

Btw, that reminds me of another one, from The Who:

"It's alarming how charming it is to be a-farming"
