    I made this for dinner tonight. Takihi is a Niuean dish made from layers of sliced taro and paw-paw, topped with coconut cream then covered and baked.

    I don't think I cooked it quite long enough, but it was still a rich, filling vegan main that was almost sweet enough to double as dessert.

    No, but thanks for reminding me that I'll probably never eat hangi again

    I did make a chilled papaya soup today that upon tasting is basically "mango lassi + chillies". I'll see how the flavours develop overnight.
