Midgar I always saw as New York, but Honk Kong is a decent fit.

For some reason, I kind of want to place Narshe in Russia.

As some random Bavarian guy I say no.

    You don't think so?

I think it's just the buildings. Not so much the pipes and junk. I've never been to Bavaria and I'm sure not every small town there looks this way, but they all look kind of similar to me.

Not every city or building in Bavaria looks like this. If anything it is inspired bym Bavaria or can be German in general. I could take a photo of what Bavaria looks outside of my video. It looks nothing like this. A part of the inner city I live in does, but here, no.

Even if it's just a small part of Bavaria, the towns would still fit into that small part of Bavaria.

The argument you're making for it not fitting with Bavaria could be made with practically any of the suggestions in this thread.

No, because if only one house in one location looks like a house Nibelheim it doesn't mean the whole Nibelheim fits as it is not generally looking like this. So there is no "Bavaria is fitting" but more "German towns in general" or if you really insist, southern parts of Germany, where Bavaria is included - because of what it once looked like about 1323947802379 years ago. Those houses are nice but don't think people over there are thinking of this style automatically when making a house, no matter if city or village of for more people or less. There are also many ugly huge buldings. I live in one of them. If you are going for "only that piece ofm Bavaria" I guarantee you will find lots of houses with that style all over the world made by architects who like that style (though we can discuss then where the style's origin is, which probably is Germany).

EDIT: That's your subjective thinking but not how objective comparison works.

I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion - if they feel it fits, then they feel it fits, and that's what is being asked. Let's not go around getting upset because people feel differently about which Final Fantasy place reminds them of which real world place (or vice versa).

I google image search Bavaria, I get pictures of castles and towns and mountains and I still think it would fit well there.

You're from there, so you have a much better idea of what it's like, but it looks like a lot more than 'one house in one location'.

That's just, like, my opinion, man.

The first picture reminds me of Alexandria, the straight street you walk up with vivi just before the fake tickets. Just after the the Pub where the Nobles meet at the beginning.
