    Default Hummus

Who else loves the trout out of this stuff? Denmark and I picked up some yesterday with Wheat Thins.

Currently we've got Roasted Red Pepper, although I really wanted to get the Sriracha kind. Next time I might get it for myself.

What are your favorite kinds? Besides pita, what do you like to eat it with?

I don't like it but sharky and my son really like it. Sharky gets this jalapeno hummus stuff. Michael eats it with crackers.

Red Pepper Hummus with pitta bread is just awesome. How have I forgotten this existed?!!

In fact, I'm gonna get some of this for my lunches at work this week. Thank you EOFF!

I love roasted red pepper, roasted garlic, spicy, black olive tapenade. Pretty much all of them.

Sabra is my preferred brand, but FreshDirect's store brand is very yummy as well.

I love making whole wheat wraps with hummus instead of mayo.. With Turkey and Swiss and lots of veggies.

And of course, dipping veggies in it. I'm not big on dipping crackers or chips.

Freaking love hummus. I have hummus and seasoned pita chips every day with my lunch. Sabre Roasted Pine Nut hummus is my go-to - I love it!

The other day I was in a rush at the store and grabbed a tub of hummus without really looking - I thought I got my usual but I snagged some garlic flavor that was... really strong and overpowering, and kindof ruined the hummus for me.

Not terribly fond of the roasted red pepper flavors - I've tried it with a couple brands and it just isn't for me. Mostly, though, I'll try any flavor!

I'm not a fan of plain hummus, but I like the flavoured kinds. I love it with peri peri drizzle. Man that is amazing.

Pitta bread forever! Or carrot batons.

When I was in a band we played at a music festival, and they said they would have food for us before our set. I was starving and hadn't eaten for two days (images of hot chicken wings, chips burgers etc running through my mind) , get to the place where the food was, all they gave us was a hummus sandwich and pack of plain crisps. I had a rock star hissy fit (lots of fun) and we got escorted off the site after our set. By the way I don't like hummus.

I love me some Hummus! It's also great w/ celery, but usually I'll have it w/ Pita Chips.

Nah it's super easy to make, mostly you just need a buncha chickpeas and some tahini (sesame sauce) and grind that trout up, add in some garlic and olive oil and whatnot and you're done.

Yeah- what kotora said. Add a little lemon juice, salt, and pepper, though, in addition to the garlic and olive oil.

To make it really good, roast the garlic in your oven first. Then blend it all up.

Give it a go! It's much cheaper than buying premade stuff, and you can make it just how you like it.

    I don't have a recipe

Here's Ina Garten's... Can't go wrong with that. Hers is a very basic recipe if you omit the hot sauce.

And like I said before, you can make it your own very easily- roast a red bell pepper and peel the black off and blend it up with the chickpeas. Or add red pepper flakes or roasted garlic, etc.

This thread made me want hummus! I bought some today, along with some hot peri peri sauce. I'm gonna dip my pitta in it.
