Sometimes, canon is just no fun. Maybe the story's not nonsensical or funny enough. Maybe things just don't make any sense. Or maybe there's something you don't like about a character or plot.

Most of the time the fans come up with theories to patch the divide. There's your regular theories that rely on logic and sense to try and explain what happens....

And then there's those wonderful, insane, oddball theories that completely throw all reason all the window, and somehow work simply because they're that awesome.

So what are your favorite fantastical theories about Final Fantasy? It doesn't have to be restricted to a single game; it can reference the entire series. After all no theory is too insane not to be listed here! Though try and keep it PG.

How's this for a theory? Shadow isn't Relm's father, but her mother. After Relm's dad "left to buy a pack of smokes, I'll be back in a 1/2 hr." & didn't come back, she ran off looking for him, leaving the young artist in the care of her grandfather.

When she found Relm's dad, hitting up some bar skank in Zozo, she stuck an ice pick in his ear. The sudden realization of killing her daughter's father & the sheer adrenaline rush made her take the persona of Shadow, assassin for hire.

Oh, & she got the dog back.

Who was it? That is something completely battrout random that BOU and Kishi would've endorsed, but I wouldn't think that they made it up.

The only theory I'm familiar with is Squall dying at the end of disc one, which I always found interesting. It's around the same time things start getting weird and Squall's become the most important person ever and gets the girl so it's plausible, but not something I'd want to be declared canon or anything.

I have trouble thinking of many rumors outside of the "revive Aeris" bullcrap. Though the other Gogo identity theories are interesting to too
