I'd prefer a boy since I think I would find him easier to raise and since females get 70% of what males get for the same job, when im old and theyre fed up with me they'll be able to afford a nicer nursing home with hotter nurses

Maybe not. I learned most of what I know (from practical knowledge to the complex) from books, magazines, or media in general. I still love my parents. We agree on very little, but I love them nonetheless.

    One or two.

At the moment, though, the idea of being pregnant and giving birth really doesn't appeal to me, so it'll be a good few years until I think of having any little humans.

No days have passed. It's just been one long day.

Parenthood as summarized by Groundhog's Day:

Phil: What would you do if you were stuck in one place and every day was exactly the same, and nothing that you did mattered?

Ralph: That about sums it up for me.

    :monster:

I definitely don't want biological babies under any circumstances unless genetic engineering (a) becomes a thing and (b) becomes affordable, and even then it's conditional on them figuring out the genetic codes that have made me miserable throughout my life and ensuring a way not to pass them on. If that happens I may think of having one biological child, but even still probably not.

I'm not entirely closed off to the idea of adopting, but I also don't think I'd be a very good parent.

I'm guessing he means that they wouldn't have enough experience to deal with particularly "girly" things. They wouldn't have the understanding that a woman would have, the empathy of having gone through the same things.

That's how I take his meaning in any case.

Thing is, no manner of experience prepares one adequately for child rearing. Each child is unique and brings a variety of experiences and trials to the relationship, which can never be predicted beforehand and must be met with ingenuity and grace each and every time. Which is not easy, no matter boy or girl or in between.
