Default Final Fantasy Fan Art Showcase of the Week #76

Hi there! Welcome to the final week of May! It looks like June is upon us, and that means a new fan art contest is on the horizon. Should I provide a sneak peek of what the theme will be? Sure, I'll let everyone in on the theme a few days early. We'll be revisiting a past theme used from last year, and it will be more appropriate this time around since it will be summer for most people. That theme of course is the "Beach"! If anyone wants to get a head start on the contest, now's your chance! With that, let's take a look at this week's showcase!

    Tifa Doodle

We will start off with a dynamic shot of Tifa in her battle pose. I like how mighty she looks, and how her fist seems to be the focal point of this picture.

    Selphie

It has been awhile since a prominent member of the forums have had their art featured in the showcase, and for this week we shall be featuring a colored drawing by our very own shion! Selphie is a really cute character, and I do like her yellow outfit very much. shion did a pretty good job with this drawing. The hand could use more work, but everything else looks good considering her level of skill with drawing. A great effort to shion! Everyone should check out her other drawings and help her improve.

    Cid Highwind

Here's a fantastic drawing of everyone's favorite Cid from Final Fantasy VII. Pretty much everything about this picture speaks to me in volumes. He looks tough and rough, especially with that spiked up hair. The details in this drawing is rather amazing too.

    Sefira-ry @ DA

Layle - Final Fantasy: Crystal Bearers

We don't see many fan art for the Crystal Chronicles games by Square Enix, don't we? They may not be considered an official part of the numbered Final Fantasy series, but they do include the name and are developed by Square Enix, so we should include them, right? Well, here's a good drawing of Layle. The coloring job is done very nicely, but as the artist had pointed out in the description, the outlines for the eyes may have ruined the picture. They don't look out of place, but they do unintentionally draw too much attention towards them from the rest of the picture.

Who would've thought Celes and Terra would make a rather nice pairing? Not I! They do make for nice dance partners though!

Apparently, I have been declared banished.

The Tifa one is great. There's a lot of fire & passion in her eyes.
