Having logged in for my customary Saturday morning Eyes on marathon posting session, I was saddened to see the typical six friend requests that have graced my notification bar for years now, has been reduced to a mere five candidates who presume a virtual connection with me. Curious to know which of my potential friends would act in such a manner, I was disappointed to discover that none other than our Dr Brian Unne rescinded his invitation, to what I thought could turn out to be a long-lasting, fraternal bond.

My question to him, as well as to all of you is: What drives a man to such a thing? Did I wrong him in some integral way as to warrant the loss of prospective comrade? And if this is truly the end of an era between Dr Unne and myself that never quite manifested itself, where do the two of us go from here?

These are the questions we ponder as a community while the rest of the world struggles with their banal problems.

What drives a man to such a thing?

What drives a man to do any thing? Lust, greed, power, it matters not in the end, surely? What matters is that he is an individual that has been pushed too far. That he is a man on the brink. That he is ready to inflict punishment upon those he deemed to have wronged him and if he is capable of taking back a friend request, what other dark machinations is he capable of?

Did I wrong him in some integral way as to warrant the loss of prospective comrade?

You have wronged each and every member of this community. Why, then, single him out? Do you realise that this implies the hurts you have caused to the rest of the userbase are somehow less important? The answer is to my first question is because he has taken action against you. Do you not see the folly of this? That if one enacts one's vengeance upon Yamaneko he gives them attention? Cause and effect. Others will take the hateful actions that Dr Unne took. The path you walk leads only to ruin.

And if this is truly the end of an era between Dr Unne and myself that never quite manifested itself, where do the two of us go from here?

My advice to you is not to ponder on such things. Friends and enemies, acquaintances and annoyances, they all surely come and go and yet the wheels keep on turning. It may be that you will encounter Dr Unne again at some later juncture; perhaps not. All you can ever do is try to be the person you were born to be - Unneful or Unneless, it makes not one jot of difference.
