Well yeah, but the correct response would've been a chuckle, saying "Sam Allardyce complaining about long ball? What next, Mourinho telling other teams to stop spending so much money?" and that would've been that, and he would've won kudos. Even "We're not really a long ball team, but we did switch tactics towards the end and it was successful as we salvaged a point on a ground where many other teams have come unstuck" if he wanted to play it straight (like his long ball loving team do lmao)

What you do not do is pre-prepare a pamphlet full of random statistics and diagrams, and then going on some half-baked rant insisting that you're not a long ball team so there you naughty bad man how dare you suggest a thing because it makes you look like a smurfing lunatic.
