How good were you at this? How far did you get?
I can only get to about 52
It doesn't even bare mentioning
15 is the highest I remember. By that time it was personal. I wasn't going to let the jump rope win. It is the ultimate villain in Final Fantasy and it must be crushed!
I got a sprained wrist.
I totally blew this off the first time I went through FFIX. THe second time I gave it a try but after the 8th jump, realized how un-progressive it was going to be, and I bailed. I doubt I'll ever jump rope in FFIX again. 8 was my limit.

I got up to about 50 or so before giving up. 1000 is the most you can get.
I usually like to get it up to 300+ before giving up. I will never obtain that Key Item, but I like me some nice cards! :]
Haha, I had to try that mini-game again. It's really addictive for such a simple mini-game. At first, my results were fluctuating heavily, every 2nd try I got like 3-4, and every 2nd try I got something like 40-55. The best I got was 75 (EDIT: 130 \o/).
Do you have any special strategy for your timing? I just keep staring at the exclamation mark.

I think i got about 70, enough to get the cactar card at least. i know there is a set pattern for the rope but cant remember of the top of my head.

I spent quite some time on this mini game lol. It's been a while and I can't remember my specific score, however I think I got to around 50. Just got sooooo fast.
Nothing to write home about, in the fifties or so.
The switch after 100 is where it starts getting challenging. I get up to 100 on most tries, but I usually fail shortly after that. I think my best is in the 200s. Maybe in the early 300s.
The trick is to find the right pace and stick with it. Muting the music helps for me. Only use the exclamation mark as a guide to help adjust your pace when necessary, aside from that just focus on keeping pace.
It's definitely more than 100, since I got 130 on my previous post. Supposedly you'll get a key item "King of Jump Rope" if you can get 1000. The game becomes noticeably faster when you reach 20 and 50, but I didn't notice much difference when I reached 100. After that, if you can catch up with the pace, you can probably keep going on forever, but it was starting to feel so repetitive after 100 that I felt like I've had enough. I found a video in YouTube which has the gamer getting over 1100 after jumping for over 9 minutes. How on earth can anyone have the patience to jump for so long?

Dumb game. I tried to master it once, but getting to 430ish and wrecking is MADDENING, at least for me.
