Yellow Magic, your link to cro-magnon just takes me back to the pharcyde link you have above it.

Let's see what I come up with here. I'll pick albums by each artist that I like, but all of the stuff deserves a listen. There's also some good bands that have already been mentioned, so I'll try not to repeat.

    1) Geinoh Yamashirogumi - Akira Soundtrack The movie was the first time I was introduced to this group.

2)Schooly D - Schooly D I was born in the 80's, so there you go.

    3) Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms

    4) Oasis-Standing On the Shoulders of Giants

    5) Chemical Brothers - Come With Us

    6) Potshot - Rock 'n' Roll

    7) Pink Martini - Sympathique

    8) Trial - Are These Our Lives?

    9) Boston - Boston I don't expect this link to live very long.

    10) Ne Obliviscaris - Portal of I

That feels so limiting. I'll probably make another list later.

Kate the Great is really great, but her voice gets on my nerves after awhile. And while I like a lot of her stuff, her cover of "Itsumo Nandodemo" from Spirited Away pisses me off. I have no idea why.

Brentalfloss is pretty rad though. I love his rendition of the Final Fantasy Theme and his girlfriend's lyric interpretation of "Fithos, Lusec, Wecos, Vinosec " from VIII is hysterical.

Christina Bianco is another great person on YouTube. I think Paper Star was the one that showed me her rendition of "Let It Go" imitating other singers, but she has a few others that are equally great. Her Celine Dion impersonation is so freaking spot on it's ridiculous. She even somehow manages to get the same facial expression and mannerisms and looks similar to Celine. haha The girl is a brilliant singer in general though, and needs to be famous. xD

Great choice. People who like Final Fantasy VII music and thoughtful lyrics should really listen to this song:

I didn't use to smurf with Mega Ran at first because I already had a negative notion in my head about nerdcore prior to hearing him and the first thing I heard was from that album and I already don't like VII's soundtrack so that was a wrap for me. I have started to listen to him after I got introduced to Sammus and listened to their Castlevania album.

Sammus is pretty good. I didn't like her at first either, but for different reasons. So if you don't like this piece I suggest just come back later and listen to some of her other stuff.

These are bands I feel like people should listen to, but I would totally not expect many people to like them. Oh well, I'll link to the more accessible songs at least.

    Karnivool

    Tesseract

    Monuments

    Periphery

    Skyharbor

Animals as Leaders (already mentioned but worth repeating)

Protest the Hero (can't get a good link on my phone)

    The Mars Volta

I Mother Earth (just the last album though, the singer before that was lame imo)

    The Butterfly Effect

    Dan Swano
    Al Di Meola

And if you don't know who Talib Kweli or R.A. The Rugged man are, you should!

A little more lighthearted R.A song.
