Thread: Online final fantasies

    Default Online final fantasies

There have only been two online games, but which was your favorite?

My friend and I have been considering playing xiv when I get a computer built, but I have been watching some xi streams and really miss it.

The issue with this question is that FFXIV has not been active long enough (assuming we forget about the mess that was 1.0) for it to really be considered.

Quite honestly, I played FFXI for eleven years, and STILL have an active subscription because I STILL log in at least once a month to catch up on some content. Granted, I solo gods on WHM these days, but I spent years putting together an appropriate frontlines combat cleric so that I could rock Vana'Diel in D&D fashion.

I feel like XIV could easily become my favored game of the two (I obviously put more time into it these days, but it's fresh and new) but at this point in time, I still have to answer with XI.

Not a fan of MMORPGs, but I played FFXIV for a while, at least up until I couldn't continue with the main questline because it was near-impossible to find people to party with.

To be honest, it was more enjoyable than I thought it'd be, but I was playing on PS3 rather than PC. I'd probably pick it up if I knew I could at very least finish up the main questline.

I played FFXI too long and FFXIV for such a short time that I can't really answer fairly. If I could, I'd be playing FFXIV now, but from the little I'd already spent with it, I'm guessing there'd still be something about FFXI that made it more special than any other game could ever be.

I thought this thread is about underaged kids wanting to enter the internet world of porn and hentai from the title.

Anyway, I do prefer single player final fantasies. Because I don't like sharing my fantasies with others.

I try to like MMORPGs but I just can't get into them. =( Although, from my experience, XIV is pretty much WoW skinned in the style of Final Fantasy XII. So if that sounds appealing to you, then fill your boots!

This made me laugh harder than I should have.

I miss xi in the fact I had people I could tolerate while playing a mmo haha. Me and my buddy used to duo everything we came across.

This is a subjective question really, you'd need to try them both.

If you've never played an MMO before, then you might enjoy XI. But with XI you need to bear in mind that it's 12 years old, looks 12 years old and has 12 year old game design decisions. If you've played more modern MMOs, or heck, WoW - then a lot of things about XI will simply do your head in. I've tried to get into it, I really have, but it shows it's age so much.

XIV is a polished version of the modern MMO, it takes the best bits of XI, adds them to the modern MMO formula, and scrubs it up nicely. It doesn't really do anything new though, but if you're looking for a polished and enjoyable experience, XIV will float your boat.

A price of a month in XI will probably buy your a new copy of XIV with a month free, so try them both out.

This is easy. My favorite is the FTP one... so neither.
    Jack: How do you know?

Will: It's more of a feeling really.

Jack: Well, that's not scientific. Feeling isn't knowing. Feeling is believing. If you believe it, you can't know because there's no knowing what you believe. Then again, no one should believe what they know either. Once you know anything that anything becomes unbelievable if only by virtue of the fact you now... know it. You know?

    Will: No.

If Demolition Man were remade today

Huxley: What's wrong? You broke contact.
Spartan: Contact? I didn't even touch you.
Huxley: Don't you want to make love?
Spartan: Is that what you call this? Why don't we just do it the old-fashioned way?
    Huxley: NO!
    Spartan: Whoa! Okay, calm down.
Huxley: Don't tell me to calm down!
Spartan: What's gotten into you? 'Cause it sure as hell wasn't me.
Huxley: Physical relations in the way of intercourse are no longer acceptable John Spartan.
Spartan: What? Why the hell not?
Huxley: It's the law, John. And for your information, the very idea that you suggested it makes me feel personally violated.
Spartan: Wait a minute... violated? Huxley what the hell are you accusing me of here?
Huxley: You need to leave, John.
    Spartan: But Huxley.
    Huxley: Get out!
Moments later Spartan is arrested for "violating" Huxley.

By the way, that's called satire. Get over it.
