The Riku storyline doesn't actually count as a replay, IMO. More like another chapter to the story. As for replay benefits - I believe you get access to more cards?

I'm pretty sure I thought the Riku story line was more interesting than Soras. The gameplay is somewhat different too since you are given a set deck you have to use for Riku in each section of the game without the ability to switch out any cards, so you have to think differently and have a good handle of the battle system to be able to do well. I don't know, it's fun.

Scotty, thanks for your input! I played the Riku story for a little bit, but just lost interest. it's been a few years now, and I can play it on a TV versus the GBA, so i'll give it a second chance!
P.S. I like your Shining pic! I just finished reading Stephen king's Dr. Sleep a few weeks back.

I still need to read the actual book of The Shining. It's been on my list forever. Then I'll get to Dr. Sleep, haha.
I do prefer being able to have full customization like with Sora, I can say that. I like being able to have to think differently with Riku, but I just often found myself wishing I could make my own decks.

If you have a PS3 or intend on ever getting one, there's the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMIX as an option for this game too. It has Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories (the PS2 version), and the cutscenes from 358/2 Days.
