I made sock puppets with a pair of my dad's old socks, ping pong ball eyes and felt features (like hats and beards) for a class assignment once. We had to do a presentation in a 'creative' way, so my best friend at the time and I decided to use sock puppets. It was great because we got to hide behind a table and read our entire presentation off the script while others had to stand up and have it memorised.
