Oh nuts, I've already ruined our chance to do this on the lets play!

I've watched people do lets plays and runs with this. The strategies you have to use make bosses actually like, easier than playing the game normally.

My girlfriend played FFX when she was younger and had no idea the Sphere Grid actually existed. She ended up getting to Luca and just quitting because the game started getting too hard.

You still have a chance to do a Kimahri solo run. #FearTheSpear

I started one once. Made it fairly far in, but it stopped being fun after a while. If I would have made it to the calm lands, it would have gotten more fun, but I think I only made it to the Bikanel Desert. Without having Aeons, a NSG game becomes a lot harder.

No, I don't have the time or interest to do something like that.

I guess anything is possible. I kind of liked the sphere grid though. it would certainly be challenging.

NSG without any other restriction is actually pretty easy and if you are little experienced with the game, it's usually easier than normal playthrough.

Speaking as someone who's done a no materia run of VII, I can't fathom doing this. I mean, you don't get any stat boosts? Any abilities? So what, you cast low-level spells and use damage items? No thanks. I'd much rather do a complete sphere grid run – all stats 255 for everybody.

you get the passive abilities from gear, and you can use aeons and power them up as well, you can also use limit breaks

so you do have some abilities available
    everything is wrapped in gray

As Mirage said, you have access to summons, who you can manually upgrade through spheres and you have overdrives. Rikku's trio of 9999 + Wakka's Attack Reels = 119988 damage even without any extra stats.

Not to mention it is also possible to almost finish the whole game (only second form of BFA wasn't yet defeated, it's incredibly luck based fight) with these restrictions NSGNSNCNONENNENBB, so No sphere grid, No summons, No customization, No overdrives, No escape, No no encounter, No blitzball. The whole game is pretty much based on Rikku's steal and use though. Still it's fun to play.

I can see that, because after battles she probably thought the S. Level was her actual "level."

No time for "Dilly-Dallying" or "Shilly-Shallying."
Props go to the one and only, Proxy, for the signature.
