Has anyone seriously used him?

I remember just kind of going and not using him. Maybe that was a bad choice?

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. He's kind of a one trick pony, which is probably why most people don't use him. He's not versatile but he hits hard, and it's fun to use him and Mog in a party together for silliness factor.

I used him a bit during my first playthrough ages ago, but I haven't used him since. In a recent thread I said I would try it again next time I play through FFVI.

Umaro is awesome. How many other Final Fantasy characters throw other characters at your enemies to attack them? Exactly.

He's not terribly conducive to the ways I like to play the game, so I often leave him behind, but I don't think poorly of him. He hits hard and automatically, so he's reliable damage you just gauntlet and miracle shoes and forget about. Pretty solid stuff until your party of Ultima spammers gets off the ground.

I think I used him in the colliseum since his beserkerness wouldnt be a drawback and I bring him to the magic tower for some physical damage

He is hairy!! That is a good enough reason to use him!

PS: He's muscular!
