I've heard a few people (not necessarily on this site) who have said they would have liked this game more without voice acting.
What about you?

That's a horrible idea. I actually love the voice acting.
No, but I like how in FFXIII they made English lip animations. A lot of the more awkwardly delivered lines in FFX were from trying to match the English voices to Japanese lip movements
I would not. I think it was for the most part all right, considering the sync issues they had to work within.
everything is wrapped in gray
i'm focusing on your image
can you hear me in the void?
Voice acting was one of the reasons I was looking forward to FFX. To finally hear your characters speak was amazing. Without voice acting FFX would have been...odd.
To put myself back into my 10-ish year old self, and for the first time hearing the characters that I'm playing speak, I just have to say it was amazing. I always had my own voice for each character in my head, but to hear them, really hear them, as a kid, just owning a PS2, being a fan of Final Fantasy since 7, it was special. Sure, now the voice acting is cheesy and dated, but back then? Back then it was beautiful.
Without voice acting, we wouldn't have got to listen to Lulu and Auron.
And the world would've been a poorer place for it.
I am with you guys - I liked having the voice acting!
I think the best thing would have been if actor Paul Reubens, (most notably portrayed Pee-wee Herman,) had voiced Tidus
If there had been no voice acting, I might have enjoyed this game more.
I think it added a lot, and it was actually jarring to me when I saw Shauna and Mr Shauna talking to NPCs who did not have voice acting.
I forgot what a big deal this was, but you guys are right...at the time it was like "OMG THE CHARACTERS ARE GOING TO HAVE VOICES". No way would I ever want to go back from that.
And that was 2001. In 2014, there is no excuse for a game - any game - not to have a certain level of voice acting. Looking at you, Zelda series.
With hindsight maybe I would of preferred it. FF having voice acting ruined quite a few RPG's for me, especially ps3 games that had no VA.
Ride ze shoopuff
Years ago I might have said yes, but Square would be stupid not to incorporate voice acting at the point FFX came out. Plus, most of the voice acting was fine.
