Pokémon is actually a really good lead-up to RPGs. Easy to understand, fairly easy to play for most of it, and yet a lot of good introductory mechanics.
I'm glad to see Farfetch'd getting some love. He's never been super popular.

Jolteon is cool but gives me bad memories about trying to catch so many Eevees! I'll always have a special place in my heart for Chespin- he was my first!
My favorites are Charmander, Ampharos, Vaporeon and the Porygon family
