So that's two for Ys, two for Brothers and one for Ninja. Anyone else to decide tomorrow's game?

If noone else votes for Ys then I will be playing Brothers tomorrow because I didn't notice I ave Ys Origin that I want to play before Ys I for the timeline. but your votes, if you say Ys I, it's Ys I :]

Don't take my vote so seriously, I only went for Ys I because I have heard of the Ys series If going for chronology is easier, then feel free to do that one!

Well I would feel kinda bad to not take people's vote seriously

Not to mention that the story of Origins and I doesn't connect and Ys I was first to be released anyway so should I play that, it's not like it would ruin it for me.

The obvious choice there would be Mirrors Edge. First playthough took about 8 hours and it is a very pretty game.

I actually did play Mirror's Edge and finished it like half a year after it came out and it's indeed awesome but since it's so long I figured why not put it on the list.

Mirror's Edge is the only one out of them I played, so I vote for that. Morrowind would be my second choice, but there's no way you're getting the whole scope of that in just a day.

Okay so far two for Mirror's Edge and one for Super Meat Boy!

I played through about half of the Brothers today so the review will be just about that.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is very unique puzzle adventure game that came out just last years so it's still pretty new.

The story is, as name suggests, about two brothers, their mother died sometime prior the game and now their father is very sick and needs something to cure him from far away. Thus the brothers set out in the world with map to the place where they can obtain the cure and face many hardships, dangerous situations but also beautiful adventure on the way.

The gameplay is what this game makes really unique, you actually play as both brothers at once, if you play on controller (and you definitely should, keyboard really sucks for this), you control the older brother with left side and younger brother with right side of the controller which takes some time to get used to. You need to control them both to solve many of the puzzles so you can actually advance.

Graphics... Those are absolutely stunning, the world is beautiful and very big, while the story is pretty glum, the world itself looks like taken straight out of fairy tale with creatures like trolls etc. And the game does know it's beautiful, there are actually benches set in the world where you can sit down and just watch the charming world for a minute.

For the music, there aren't really memorable tracks that will stuck in your head but rather perfecty complementing track for the world, very subtle yet very fitting. The language the brothers and all other people speak is as far as I know made up but after a while you start to understand basics, the game doesn't offer subtitles so it's left to your imagination.

As usual, here is some gameplay. If you haven't seen/played the game yet and don't know if you should get it, I reccomend to watch this one even if you aren't usually interested in my videos, just so you see how beautiful the game really is (mainly the paragliding is stunning).

    Rating:

    Objectively:

This game is absolute gem in everything it does. It has beautiful world with decent story to catch you and very nice style of puzzles. There isn't really anything wrong with the game.

    10/10

    Subjectively:

While this type of game isn't what I would normally choose to play, I love it very much, it's really one of the most beautiful (I used this world so much in this review it must mean something!) games I've ever played. I enjoy solving the puzzles and watching the big world around me. I also like that the story of the game is at least so far pretty glum yet it isn't overwhelming the fairy tale look of the game.

There is one and only one thing that I do have a problem with and unfortunately it is kinda big for me. The need to continuously hold the action buttons while climbing/pushing/holding etc instead of being on/off tap. I wanted to play through the whole game today but my index fingers really hurt from holding the action buttons all the time, not to mention my controller has those R1/L1 buttons cheaply made so sometimes even if I hold it down, it just stop working and I die. That also added alot of annoyance. Only thanks to this issue I am giving it 9 instead of 10

    9/10

Really lovely game, I will definitely get back to it in a week or so to finish it. I definitely recommend everyone to play it.

Glad you liked it! And yeah, I suffered through the whole game on keyboard which was quite frustrating. I'm not sure why, but the thought just never hit me to try my controller. xD I still loved it, though!

The ending was definitely what sealed the deal for me.

Endgame spoilerWhen you got home to the island and had to use big brother's button to swim (and other things), that was such a great moment to me. It was a pretty simple thing but it hit me right in the feels when I figured it out.
