Also, if you like hack and slash games, play Dust an Elysian Tale... It's probably one of the best games I got from games with gold on the 360 for free
Haha okay again each game has one vote so far, but this time you have time till monday so we will see which game it ends up being :x
I didn't get to play too much of Ys: Origins today, but I already know I will love it. Anyway here is the review.
Ys: Origins
Ys: Origins is a action RPG game from Japanese name sharing series Ys. It first came out in 2006 but just in 2012 it actually got English localization and release on Steam. Chronologically the Origins is the very first part of the Ys series, happening about 700 years before the first Ys.
So what is Ys about? The world you live in used to be peaceful with two beautiful Goddesses and their six grand Priests protecting the harmony. One day though, giant army of demons appeared out of nowhere and chaos struck, Goddesses managed to lift the big city in the sky to protect it but after some time they suddenly dissapear. You and few other best people of the city are then sent back down to the demon filled earth to find the Goddesses before all is lost.
At the beginning of the game you can choose from two characters (later on third appears as well) and by playing the game with each of them, you can actually see more parts of the story.
As said at the start, Ys is action RPG so while you are trying to uncover the truth about what happened to Goddesses, you slash through many various foes, picking up loot, leveling up and all the other good stuff of the genre.
Graphically the game is manga styled and the intro is anime. As to how the actual in-game graphics style is called I've got no idea but you can see for yoursef in the screenies. Music and sound effects are once again well fitting and nice to listen to.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to play much of the game and I actually lost my whole unsaved progress as well today so I am unable to say much else about the game at the moment. However there is once again some of the gameplay:
Rating:
Objectively:
The game has very enjoyable gameplay and interesting story. Not to mention good replay value with multiple characters giving the game's story more points of view.
The graphics are in my book very nice but may not appeal to all and it could also be said that they are now somewhat aged.
8/10
Subjectively:
I really like this game from the start, anything anime-ish has half won in my book already and I actually enjoy the gameplay of the game and I am definitely interested in discovering the whole story of the game, multiple characters included.
10/10
Sorry guys that today's review is kind of half assed but I genuinely like the game and am totally looking forward playing it some more. Just tell me this, are other Ys games more or less the same gameplay wise? Because if they are, I will discard them from the voting in the future since I will be sure playing them later.
As far as I know, Ys Seven changed up the battle style slightly, but is still largely the same. I'm playing it now and am really enjoying it. Not sure how it compares to what you're playing though as far as story and things
Well since no more votes were given, RNG decided that winner for today is Ballpoint Universe!
So that's the game of monday, but what about tuesday? :P You choose!

Oh so far just one vote? Well Cthulhu sounds great so I don't mind but more votes are always fine.
I gave a try to the Ballpoint Universe: Infinite today so here is my review of it.
Ballpoint Universe: Infinite
Ballpoint Universe: Infinite is more of a beautiful piece of art than a game but it came out last year in the genre of shoot-em-up adventure game.
From what I've played so far I am not really sure if there is actually a story to follow but so far it seems it's just one of those enjoy the game kind.
The gameplay is actually kind of surprising. At first I thought it was supposed to be mainly an adventure but it actually is 2D universe shooter.
The gameplay itself isn't what is so awesome about this game though. Seriously, as said before this game is a piece of art. Everything is drawn by hand with guess what? Ballpoint pen! It's incredibly beautiful and charming. The music is also very enjoyable.
Here are first 17 minutes of the game:
Rating:
Objectively:
Gameplay wise the game isn't exactly unique but as it's really something you enjoy watching and listening to. But to be honest the gameplay isn't exactly bad for a shooter.
7/10
Subjectively:
I like shooters and I don't really have that many in my reperoire so I really like having and playing the game. Not to mention I totally crave the art style.
9/10
Really a lovely game. Definitely will keep playing!
