Highscore Challenge - Eyes on Final Fantasy 2048 - WINNER REVEALED

FF3(8) + FF3(8) = FF4(16)
...
FFX (1028) + FFX (1028) = Happy Bob (2048) and win.

If you want to practice before playing, the original makes a lot more sense. Try playing it first if you're not sure on the rules.

Pyschotic is in the lead, followed by Colonel Angus and then Bubba. Comeptions are open until the 15th, so See if anyone else can beat psychotic's score by then. I know a certain Kiwi managed to get a 5 digit score over the weekend....

Protip guys: Pick a corner and, for the love of god, make sure the highest tile stays in that corner. Next, pick a direction and, for the love of god, make sure the other tiles flow in that direction, with the largest closest to the corner tile.

I'm curious. Since the game can not be carried on after you hit the win, is it a "highest score wins" or "lowest scores wins" for those who actually complete the game?

Sort of. I mean, it's two different kinds of difficulties, really. Lower 'win' scores mean you have achieved it in fewer turns, which requires a fair bit of skill, but equally to get a really high score could require sacrificing many chances to win in order to bump up your score and thus be seen as a trickier thing to do. I imagine there is an "average" score that is easiest and then you could argue that both relatively high scores and relatively low scores are equally impressive. Provided you reached 2048, of course.

In my OP, the score received when the player got the 2048 tile was 20,392. Our first finisher was psychotic with a score of 21,052. This means to me that the scores can differ from player to player.

I'm gonna stick towards "Highest Score wins". It encourages risky play by elongating the game. I want to see someone with 2x FFX ready to match, and then losing. The tears will be delicious if it happens.

I do encourage all scores to be posted though. I'll update the OP with current scores just now. A lot of entries this month which I'm quite happy about.

I have won this thing like eight times but I always end up with around 500 less points than Psy. xD Oddly enough my best win so far was my first one.2048 1st win.png

I have a cracking score of 31,588 on my phone with "never ending" turned on.
