Would you play an FFVII-2?

Okay, so anyone who played through CC and DoC knows that the Compialtion was trying to build up to some sequel story that would most likely star Genesis or at least feature him prominently. So my question is, if SE decided to make a FFVII-2 as a playable game would you play it? It doesn't even have to continue off of the Compilation, just the idea of a sequel to this game, would you do it?

^ Sounds about right to me! I really like FFVII but it definitely doesn't need ANOTHER entry in to the Compilation. AC, BC (which I'm surprised SE hasn't milked in the West yet...TGS announcement incoming!), CC, DC, On the Way to a Smile and The Last Order are plenty enough. I'm not even that bothered about an FFVII remake anymore, but of course I'd be all over it like a rash if ever it did actually get released! But at the moment...just give me XV. Oh, and Type-0 HD!

Good lord no. We don't need more Compilation garbage, especially the convolution they would end up adding to stretch a whole game out of it.

There's only one tangent from FF7 that would make an acceptable, awesome, standalone sequel (or prequel):

The story hasn't been brought to a closure, just as Final Fantasy X Will, so yes. And it will come anyway. That was said in 2008 already. The Compilation's finale will need another form.

Would I play it? Yes.
Would it be any good? Probably not.

Seriously, that is probably a terrible thing for me to say since I am effectively encouraging such behaviour from SE.

Well if it's FF and it's on a system I own, chances are I'll at least try it. Unless it's an MMO.

I would play because I really enjoyed FFVII, but I am not sure it would be a good idea to do a FFVII-2.

Yes. That isn't to say I think it's a good idea, nor is it me saying I would prefer them making VII-2 to XV. What it is to say is that FFVII is my favourite game and it would be stupid to deny the idea of me buying the sequel to my favourite game.

Probably not. I didn't play any of the other compilation games either and don't really feel like I missed much. It probably depends somewhat on what system it was for, though, as well as the reviews, obviously.
