Anyone remember the FFIV for NES rumor?

What are your thoughts about what if FFIV had been closer to FFIII in design and left on the NES instead of jumping to the new system?

With what they were aiming for at the time with FFIV, even a stripped down version for NES would have been a bad idea. FFIII was pushing it as far as they could at that point, so I am glad that it turns out they never wasted their time working on a fourth Famicom title.

FFIV had like 3/4 of its script cut so it could fit on a SNES cart, NES wouldve been impossible.

I don't remember a FFIV for NES rumor, but I do remember one for SFII. I even had a dream where I owned SFII on NES, where there was just one punch & kick button each. I remember playing as Vega against Guile or Blanka(?) on some skyscraper rooftop.

You sure you're not confusing that with the Sega Master System version?

No. The images in my mind almost looked like the street fighter characters from Mega Man X Street fighter. It didn't even look like the Street Fighter of the day.
