127. In the original 2D versions, the four enemy summons: Imp, Bomb, Mindflayer, and Cockatrice are non-elemental attacks, but the in 3D versions, Bomb is now fire elemental and Cockatrice is now Earth elemental.

128. The Avenger weapon debuts in FFIV, but what's interesting about it are all the bugs associated with it:
  • The weapon simply copies the stats of the last weapon the user had equipped, especially if equipped in battle.
  • This Berserk Status, if equipped during battle, will bypass Cecil's Crystal Armor immunity to Berserk.
  • If you are playing the original version of IV or Easy Type, casting a spell during the Zeromus fight and then equipping the Avenger onto Kain before Zeromus Shakes to restore his magic power will cause Kain to actually use his spell casting animation because the weapon makes him copy the last action another character does.
  • The weapon seems to reset the equipped characters turn when equipped in battle, so it will skip his turn despite equipping in battle being a free action, and make them wait until their following turn. You can bypass this by making the character in the center row of the party formation, or simply not play the SNES/Super Famicom versions of the game.
  • If Cecil equips the weapon during the first part of the Zeromus fight where he has to use the Crystal to change his form, the game becomes unwinnable because the Berserk status can't be removed and Cecil can't change equipment now due to the status as well.

129. The Sylph summon is also glitched in the original console versions and the Wii version. If the spell list is rearranged in the former so the summon comes first then it will cost 0 Mp to cast. In the latter, Rydia will simply not use MP if she is placed on the bottom row. Though it should be noted the player must still have 20MP to cast it either way, you just won't use said MP.
