    They should really come up with a new name for these. I've never heard of honorary oscars, but it sounds like pandering to people who don't/can't win real oscars. Like being an honorary member of something. Or being an honorable mention for something. When I read the headline I almost sneered that Miyazaki was getting something in which it sounds like he'd be too good for. When in fact these are apparently life-time achievement awards or something. Stop being smurfing confusing Hollywood

    Fairly certain he won an actual Oscar for Spirited Away. This seems like a lifetime achievement award.

    Few people are more deserving.

    They usually do call it the "Lifetime Achievement Award", not "Honorary Oscar".
