Admittedly Revelations was the most I've enjoyed a Resi game after RE4. RE5 and 6 were let downs, but ehh, I'm not that stoked about this. Revelations certainly wasn't without its own issues. But perhaps that was more due to the 3DS > console porting, maybe this one will handle better.
Either way I'm not getting hyped, the series hasn't been good for a while and with each installment just feels more and more like a parody of itself. Maybe they'll pleasantly surprise me. Maybe they won't. But honestly, I don't believe Capcom are capable of making good games anymore.
I kinda wish they'd just reboot it and start over with the Umbrella story arc again and try and keep it a bit more grounded.
Revelation: We have no smurfing clue how to string this bulltrout along. RETCON EVERYTHING!
That said, revelations was somewhat fun from what I played but I just can't fully get behind a new RE game anymore. I think they kind of killed it all for me with them trying to be everything to everyone and that it was all a bunch of poopy diapers. No one wants to play in poopy diapers because it is a horrible task/job.
I'll wait until the whole thing is out a few months later so I can rent it. I still enjoy the RE games (yes, even RE6) but not enough to make myself buy them anymore. Capcom seems hellbent on doing the opposite of what fans keep begging them to do in regard to all their most beloved series.
Heck, The Evil Within looks more like Resident Evil than the last few Resident Evil games have.
