I voted V, although Bravely Default deserves an honorable mention. I wish they had played up the crystal aspect of IX more.

IV, V may use the Crystals better but IV had a better plot.

Not a fan of the one in III with the talking crystals. That's just plain weird. V for me.

Final Fantasy V at least gets recognition for being the penultimate crystal story. Hell, it even had a halfway decent anime produced based on it, which was, inexplicably, released in America at the time Final Fantasy V was still new.Ha!
