I would say the game's theme is inheritance, the entire game revolves around a new generation cleaning up the mess of the old one and the young taking over the duties of their parental figures. It makes sense when you think about how it was the last game Sakaguchi did before handing over the mantle of director to the younger staff.

FFV is one of many FF games I didn't play all the way to the end because Kid Tori sucked and always quit when he got to a hard spot. Kid Tori!
