    Default October Movie Releases

Same deal as the gaming thread.

    2nd: Bang Bang!

    3rd: Annabelle
    Gone Girl
    Left Behind

    4th: Inherent Vice

    6th: Na Maloom Afraad
    O21

    10th: Addicted
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
    Dracula Untold
    The Judge
    Kill the Messenger

    17th: The Best of Me
    The Book of Life
    Fury

    23rd: Happy New Year

    24th: John Wick
    Ouija
    St. Vincent

And yes, that Left Behind is the bible apocalypse movie based off the book and it is starring... NICOLAS SMURFING CAGE!

Mom's a vampire nut so I'll probably ride along to see Dracula Untold. The Judge looks pretty good, too. And my brother and mom showed interest in John Wick so I may tag along to see that.

Anyone else planning a theater trip next month?

My grandma always gave me the Left Behind books for my birthday when I was growing up, which I promptly placed in the "donation pile" of my things without cracking the cover.

I've heard speculation that Dracula Untold is the first to spark in a revision of the Universal Monsters movies that a couple of directors are "secretly" working on, but I hope to god this one isn't included because no thank you. Also, I like my monsters aged, black and white, and full of camp.

Not a great month for film.

They were mandatory reading in school for me (home school). The lead character always reminded me of Squall for some reason.

Ugh, that sounds awful. For some reason, on my version of the books, the main dude looked like some alternate version of Greg Kinnear. As such, I have associated him with terrible Christian fiction throughout my life and cannot take him seriously.

Nah, I actually enjoyed the books. And Harry Potter was also required reading so it was well balanced.

@list, I didn't know New Years came in October.

New David Fincher movie coming out October 3rd. I'm not a fan of AFFLECK! or Tyler Perry, but Gone Girl looks promising under Fincher's name alone. Around Cannes and Toronto time we had better films coming out. I'd say wait until Sundance time in January for some more. This is definitely not the month.

The two or three Left Behind books I read were actually pretty good.

Really excited about Gone Girl. I'm sure it will be awful.

My favorite part of the trailer was when Affleck goes "I know you" and then they cut to a close up of Neil Patrick Harris. Made me laugh.

I am glad to see he's trying to do some serious work, though. The timing is kind of cool because I was just thinking about him doing a more serious role and then he shows up in that. Hollywood can read minds! o.o
