Let's Play FFV TO BOOST SOME FORUM ACTIVITY!!!

So the FFV forum has been kind of dead and I was planning on replaying the game anyway (I started before my trip but didn't get far) so here we go, shion is going to play the FFV!!

*Note: This will not be a fast Let's Play. I have a whole bunch of games I'm playing right now. I'll try to play everyday but some of that might be grinding and what not so it might not be updated everyday

Meanwhile, Bartz and Boko are chillin by a campfire when suddenly

Bartz goes to investigate as some quirky battle music begins

Good thing Bartz is on the case

He defeats them

Also, how lame is it that he's the only one they give me the option to name right away

Amnesia is a very common problem in RPG's. I'm pretty sure its like 90% of the cases that doctors treat

That's one of the things I like about this game. It doesn't take itself too seriously

Luckily for me, the pirates all seem to be taking a nap at the exact same time and blocking every entrance but the one to the ship



So off to steal the pirate ship we go

Also, fun fact, the eye patches that the pirates wear change eyes depending which way they're facing

So day turns to night and the guard stays awake to keep watch because he took that nap earlier

When I first played this when I was younger, I thought it was just a head because I failed to realize the rest of the body was underwater. It raised a few questions to say the least



So off we go to the Wind Shrine because every adventurer needs a destination

So anywho, MY FIRST BOSS FIGHT



Considering my options are Attack and Item, I don't really think I need to give you a strategy for this fight



The crystal shards start flashing their bewbs

So my computer ate some of my images

Not much though. Basically you missed us finding out the canal to our new destination is lost (oh no) so we head to a little town where some ladies uncomfortably dance around and on Lenna. They continue to do so after I leave and take a shot at the piano.

Ahem so afterwards I go over to the newbie hall, mostly for the free items, and run in to this jerk

After I spent 10 whole gil at the Inn

Anyways, Bartz wakes up during the night and decides to get some fresh air

During which they play some really great music that I wish I had remembered about before I made my top games music list



Makes me think of Dark Cloud actually



Apparently young Bartz had greenish hair

And a small house

Meanwhile, old dude watches Lenna sleep (?!)



And comes out to see Bartz

By hid he means just told he he didn't have it



Right so, time to get going

Oh yeah, Faris was hanging out at the bar this whole time. Our characters went to check on h...him and the two gentlemen liked what they saw. Its a shame I lost those screenshots

So we head back to the ship

So before we head on with the journey, I decide to take a trip back to the hideout

Okay I lied. I found myself with some extra time so yay another update!

But really this image thing is getting annoying It seems if I stop playing and come back, the old images get saved over. Lesson learned I guess

So sadly we lost some really good ones We got the key and headed through to the canal, which Bartz unlocks. When asked how he got the key, he shrugs it off nonchalantly in a way no one would ever accept. Then we fight some lobster thing (use Thunder) and get caught in a whirlpool

Then the sad Syldra scene happens and maybe its a good thing you can't see it ;____;

Syldra gets caught in the whirlpool and...

Anyways, without Syldra the ship wanders aimlessly until we finally arrive at the ship graveyard. We venture inside. Eventually we have to walk through the water, a prospect Faris isn't too keen on

So we get some sleep for the night.

Faris wakes us up and Galuf falls out of bed







I'm glad Bartz accepts her for who she is

So off we go to fight more dead pirates and the like





Eventually I find a treasure chest that when opened makes a whole ship appear because why not. But it does lead us to dry land

Yeah that's not suspicious or anything



So the bunch of them get hypnotized or something



It was implied that she is your granddaughter



So their souls or something start leaving their bodies



Yes, souls



I'd like a refund



BECAUSE THEY ARE FRIENDS



So he slaps them all out of it



And their souls return to them

Which leads to this boss fight



So magic does nothing so I just attacked. She was supposed to turn in to like a Zombie Siren or something but that... didn't... happen. So um

If she does, just fire magic at her



He denies this and starts flexing

So we leave the ship graveyard and head to the nearest town



Aww



!!!









Eventually we meet this lady who no one else seems to notice looks exactly like Stella



o no wat do



So what is the plan folks?



We go by banana!

So we meet Stella #3



Let's go talk to the husband



What is it doing there?



Gee I wonder why it was named that







So now we have a plan!!!

Very big update today so I'm going to split it up and post the rest later

And finally we have all the screenshots!!! Yay so happy

Okay so we head up that mountain mentioned in the last post and find something on the ground



This is starting out well



That is pretty brutal considering there is all of one left in the whole world







So Faris jumps



Like so, but then she falls



Like so.



But that's not enough to stop Faris, who comes climbing her way back up



That is pretty badass

But it doesn't end there, she also attaches something for the others to climb over



BOSS FIGHT



So just attack her and stuff, eventually she summons her husband



I took her out first and then went after him. Not a super hard fight. Although you do start with Lenna poisoned.



So we head further up the mountain, while avoiding poison flowers, and we find



And now we get to see one of the reasons I like Lenna so much



She walks through the poison to get the grass for her dragon



As she collapses from the poison, the dragon eats the grass and gets better



The dragon then flies sideways a few feet and does something to Lenna



Which heals her of all of her poison!



I love that scene

So anyway



They all start laughing at poor Bartz



And he asks what's funny



And off we go!



So before heading to Walse, we make a stop back at Tycoon Castle



But I'm busy saving the world!!!!

YOU NEVER UNDERSTAND ME



She told him



So we agree to spend the night and Lenna wakes up and heads out on to her balcony to find Faris



!!!



She then laughs and runs away, not at all suspiciously.

Well played Faris. Well played



It might as well be the results to a DNA test!

Meanwile



Bartz then falls out of bed and gets up and starts umm... I'm not sure what he's doing



Neither is anyone else



So afterwards I go around stealing treasure seeing the castle folk and I run in to this fellow



HMMM

Well that's that for now. Castle Walse is next

Part 2 for today!

So we head over to Walse castle and go treasure hunting, during which we find our good old friend



Shiva! So after an annoying fight





I don't have a summoner yet though...

But it is always a good sign when shops and stuff are selling things you can't use

So we head to the throne room





Santa King is being stupid



So you'll stop then?







Well then they are also being stupid

Suddenly



Everything turning red is never a good sign



OH NO, ANOTHER POTATO



Do you believe me now



Uh huh

So we head over to the Tower and find that not everything is super duper



Up to the top floor we go



Here it comes indeed



One of the more difficult boss fights thanks to the Rush attack it uses

But eventually we take it down



The crystal shattered



Random Knight?



He dies



On the bright side, we get new jobs



And one more shard I can't get to

But we aren't out of the woods yet



Boo



Sure enough it sinks and we start drowning.

BUT WAIT



Syldra has come to save us !!!!!!!!!



It brings us ashore



!!!!!



I legitimately cry every time during this scene

So, that is where we will leave off today. Here are my characters and their new and old jobs and tune in next time

I think about this point in the game I was hoping for the crystal to shatter just so I could get some new jobs. I'm probably not the first person you should turn to if you need the world saved.

UPDATE TIME!

So last night I went through the meteor, but I didn't take any images because it won't keep them if I turn off the game and come back. Nothing much really happened, but for those curious, I did a paint cartoon (very high quality) to show what happened

Ahem, moving on

We arrive at the city of Karnak, with its random flames everywhere. I would hate living there



Who is professor Cid you ask?



That was convenient.

So I go about minding my own business and trying to purchase goods from the weapons shop in exchange for currency when all of a sudden



It took me so long to walk here from that stupid meteor, how did they even see

So I get thrown in prison because why not. In there, a man from the next cell suddenly blows a hole in the wall dividing both of our cells



Our heroes find this rather amusing



Never would have guessed



WOOOOOW LENNA



No kidding, my goodness



Reading never leads to anything good is the lesson here



Yeah...



But instead they threw you in prison?



I could write for RPGs



So Bartz takes this chance to show off



Soon we are interrupted



HOW COULD HE KNOW?! ITS LIKE THERE WAS A PRECEDENT OR SOMETHING



Cid? SHIP?!





But Cid quickly puts him in his place



So we agree to help and he says he will meet us there



On my way out, we have a run in with the infamous werewolf



Considering they imprisoned me and Cid, I have a feeling the werewolf is also not a bad guy. They don't seem to have the best track record for arrests

So before heading to the fire ship, I stop and buy some supplies and magic and things



who would have guessed



No



Of course it is. That makes total sense

So I go in through the fire ship, which is a really long and annoying dungeon for the record, and I find Queenie McQueen



*sigh*

So BOSS FIGHT



Toughest one so far by a good bit. It changes forms and attacks. Use ice spells and ice weapons and Shiva. After a while the fire monster goes down



Of course



You realize that evil is very rarely new in these games? Its almost always an old or ancient evil

So we head to the Crystal room and see an old friend



Oh Bartz



He has amnesia, wolf man



But before we can learn anything, a possessed guard comes in and ruins everyone's fun



Its not evil if you don't laugh about it



Sadly, I end up falling or something and can't save him



So in yet another sad scene of sacrifice, Mr. Wolf dies

And we still can't find out anything about Galuf

Meanwhile we end up at the castle because why not, and the Crystal shatters



So we head back to the Crystal room



That's what I said







I have 10 minutes to get out of the castle. Normally not a difficult task, but there are treasures everywhere. So I get as many as I can and leave with about 3 and a half minutes left

BUT I get in to what seems to be an ordinary fight, and is in fact.... not





So after defeating the Iron Claw, I leave the castle which then proceeds to blow up



But its not all negative!



!!!
