A small group was polled about what they want from the next DQ and I thought it would make for a good discussion here.

I think I'm not alone when I say I want them to make another game like DQVIII. I want a large, beautiful open world with day-night cycles. I'm sure verything else would fall into place.

I'd also prefer we drop the shared adventuring and get back to a really great single player game. I think there should be some connectivity to keep up with the times but have it relegated to monster team battles or item recipe trading. At most, I'd want a separate dungeon crawling co-op experience where I can create my own character and go spelunking with friends. It would be cool too if, when you walk in the casino, you're taken into an interactive lobby with other players at the tables or on the machines and you could all gamble with/against eachother.

I'd also like to see them land big stars for the NA voice talent, similar to how the Miyazaki films are done when they come over here. I see Dragon Quest in the same vein, something for all ages, and doing this might help it achieve the same cross-over status in the West that it enjoys in Japan.

Lastly, I'd like it to join the other JRPGs coming out next year in releasing for PS4 and Vita, as I'd like to be able to take take a native handheld version with me that I could play my save on.

What about you guys? What are you hoping for in the next DQ?
