Default Tabata wants to make Type-0 into its own FF Spin-off series

Recently Hajime Tabata, the director of Final Fantasy Type-0 as well as Final Fantasy XV told the European Square-Enix branch about how he hopes Type-0 becomes a success so he can branch it off into its own spin-off FF universe. Square-Enix already had the idea a few years ago when they trademarked the titles Type-1, Type-2, and Type-3 a few years back when Final Fantasy Agito first received its name change to Type-0.

So what could these future titles be about? Tabata has mentioned that he approached Type-0 as being a playable historical document and loves to take ideas from actual historical events. In this same interview he mentioned wanting to create a scenario similar to the American Civil War. Perhaps this could give us an idea of where his thoughts for the future of the series could go. This all still hinges on whether Type-0 will prove to be successful to the fans when it releases in March 2015 in both NA, JPN, and PAL regions.

Isn't there a "new" Agito planned as a sequel? Is he hoping that will get renamed to Type-1? If the game lives up to even half of the promise it's hype is generating, I wouldn't mind a series for it. Sounds like it stands to do with Final Fantasy, what SMT did for JRPGs in general. Crank up the mature factor, and stop catering to six-year-olds. I'd compare it more to a Persona game. A mature game with teenage protagonists that breaks all the rules. And though I generally don't enjoy the use of kids as protagonists, at least this time it makes sense in the context. And as long as its well executed, and isn't geared toward pre-teens, I'm not actually completely turned off. But it has to be done well. Potentially, done like this, and some Persona games, and a few other (rare) examples

Oh, Square Enix. When are you going to learn that the FF series' glory days were back when you didn't make multiple spinoffs/sequels/prequels/interquels to every remotely well selling entry?
    I like Kung-Fu.
