    Default Toy Story 4 announced

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/1...ushpmg00000063

Ehhhh, I mean, I really do trust Pixar to do it well, but 3 ended absolutely perfectly! It was the most amazing and beautiful ending to a trilogy that I've ever seen and I was so happy to just let that franchise ride off into the sunset as one of the best ever.

The only thing I'm thinking is that Toy story 1-3 were really for my generation, I was 4 when number 1 came out and basically Andy's age when it wrapped up in number 3. Maybe 4 will be more along the lines of number 1 in the sense that we have another young kid who plays with them now and they're hoping to reintroduce the franchise to a new generation of little'uns.

    Thoughts?

I'm very apprehensive. Like you, I thought Toy Story 3 was a great ending to the story. I always grow wary when a series like this goes on too long. I'm sure I'll see it in theatres, but after the third movie in any series, my expectations are pretty low.

Won't be better than 3. No way. But I'd like to hope they are doing this one because there is a story they think they should tell and not just for a cash grab.

Why can't people just let things go? Why is there a necessity for four Toy Story movies? It upsets me that the company is trying to capitalize on the existing popularity of the show to continue making money on it. Stop it.

No, I will not be supporting Toy Story 4.

The problem with trilogies is that there is never quite a good enough ending to satisfy everybody. The only exception to this rule was Toy Story 3. It was perfect.

This is like Christopher Nolan doing a Robin spin-off following The Dark Knight Rises. It just isn't necessary.

    No Pixar, just no.

I was hoping they'd make just one more movie. Ending at 3 of them seemed kinda...depressing. Especially when 1 and 2 were better than 3 to me.
Xenogears is the tragic story of how your whole life can take a crappy turn, just because you happened to see a lady in a wedding dress before her wedding.

The ending of 3 was sad, but it was a healing sadness, that left off with a lot of hope and optimism for the toys. They had a new kid who loved them, and Andy would move on with his life with all the gr8 memories of his childhood, knowing that his toys were in good hands. There was even a nice long character arc that Woody went through which was nicely tied up at the end of Toy Story 3.

I agree that 1 and 2 were better than 3, but the ending was perfect.

What else could they possibly do.

    I am concerned.

    Toy Story 4: French Kiss
The toys end up in Paris, exploring the city and going to the Eiffel tower before exploring delightful French stereotypes as a man in a beret tries to catch them, saying "oh ho ho!" Expect the toys to meet a sexy French lady toy.

Toy Story 4: Thunder Down Under
The toys end up in Australia, exploring the country and bouncing around in a kangaroo's pouch before exploring delightful Australian stereotypes as a Crocodile Dundee/Steve Irwin-esque man in one of those hats with the corks on them tries to catch them, saying "fair dinkum!" Expect the toys to meet a rough and tough tomboy girl toy.

    Toy Story 4: Russian Around
The toys end up in Moscow, exploring the city and seeing a lot of snow (it's Russia that's all it does there don't you know) before exploring delightful Russian stereotypes as a really angry vodka drinking man in a fur hat to catch them, making derogatory comments about capitalism because lol the cold war you guys. Expect the toys to meet a cold and closed off lady ballerina toy.

That or Toy Story in Space.

If anyone from Pixar is reading this, I'm available.

I read this last night and my reaction was "what no" like some of you.

But the Toy Story series hasn't let me down yet so I'm open a little bit to a new one.

Except I would actually welcome a Night Wing film from Nolan!

I don't want this to become the thread, but anyone who doesn't think 3 was the best is cray. Just cray.

    My reaction in gif form:

I don't know about this. Pixar has fewer missteps than any movie studio I know, but 3's ending was as close to perfection as you can possibly get. I could let a Halloween special and some shorts go by, but I don't see the need for a new feature film. This better be good.

Why do you all assume it's going to be a Woody/Buzz story? They're all gone. It'll probably be a story from all new toys' perspectives or some cameos from old ones. I'll wait for the trailer to judge whether it looks good or not.

They're not gone? They found a new home with a few other toys. I assume we're going to end up at their new house and the new toys will join them.
