I did not play the crossover, sadly. I played all other games in the series besides Gyakuten Kenji 2, though.
Since it's Christmas, it might be a good time to present this particular character.
Ushio Okazaki (CLANNAD)
Her sole existence is a spoiler, but I guess it can't be helped. I'll be as discreet about other spoilers as possible though. Why is Christmas such a good time to present her? Well her mother's birthday is December 24th, and while Ushio herself has no known birth date in the original CLANNAD visual novel, she is supposedly also born on December 24th according to the (somewhat terrible) movie adaptation.
Why I like her
Ushio doesn't appear until about the last twentieth of CLANNAD's plot, but she is probably THE main reason why CLANNAD is as memorable as it is. No kidding. What's so great about her is the fact that she manages to bring out the best in the other, already very thoroughly developed characters of CLANNAD and creates some of the absolute best character interactions and growth I have ever seen. Need I mention the trip? It moved me to tears. Every time.
Well of course Ushio herself is just a five-year-old kid so her character is not all that developed, but the bit of character and development she does get is sufficient to prevent her from being nothing but a device, and apart from that she is directly involved in not only the saddest scene I have ever seen in a game, but also the saddest ending I have ever seen in a game (the two are separate scenes). Holding back the feels is not possible with this girl.
If it hadn't been for Ushio I'd have probably missed out on quite a few of what are now my absolute favorite visual novels.
