Man, I love Rita. Most Tales games have a character in this kind of role (the 'young genius' archetype) but never has it been pulled off as well as Rita. She's not only extremely knowledgeable, but also extremely logical. She often acts almost like a vessel for the player, by picking up on anything that seems like a tired game trope and makes fun of it. She's scathing and confident and I adore her. She's also a great mage who isn't completely useless when she's low on TP and needs to get stuck into some melee combat.
