What games have had endings that completely shock you? Am ending so far out there that you had to rethink your entire life goals?
My main thought is the bioshock series, I just finished infinite for the first time and I loved it.

Zero Escape: Virtues Last Reward
Kefka's coming, look intimidating!
Have a nice day!!
The Last of Us. I mean you kind of see it coming but it all hit me pretty hard.
The ending to Braid was a pretty neat twist on a conventional story. The "suicide" ending from Silent Hill 2 was one that got to me a bit too...
I don't really play games with set endings anymore![]()
Mass Effect 3 didn't offend me the way it did some people but it did sure seem like a random fever dream lol
I remember being floored by Bioshock: Infinite's ending as well, which is hard because you go into a Bioshock game basically expecting a bizarre, twist ending.
Mmm, Xenogears. Though most of the "WTF" stuff hits you there long before the ending. Though the ending did kind of surprise me in its own way
And agreed that the Xillia games had crazy endings, and crazy things leading up to those endings that just kept me guessing and wanting more. I don't think it was all that well written in the end, but the imagination and ambition that went into it was stellar and I wholeheartedly support those with that kind of vision and gumption. Such good games. I'm sad they're over for me
Mother 3. Oh god, Mother 3.
Xenogears is the tragic story of how your whole life can take a crappy turn, just because you happened to see a lady in a wedding dress before her wedding.
This boy is crackin' up, this boy has broken down

Final Fantasy XV. Not only does the main villain turn out to be Lightning, but she also kills Cloud @ the end.
But I heard if you destroy red xiii you can use his feather to bring him back.
I think MGS3 probably had the ending with the biggest impact for me. Yes it was very predictable but the way it was handled with forcing the player to do the dirty deed and then Eva's monologue designed to make you feel as bad as Big Boss was feeling made the whole sequence brilliant.
I feel Journey had a pretty powerful ending as well especially due to the game's brilliant build-up towards it in the snowy mountains.
True beauty exists in things that last only for a moment.
Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...
MGS3 always made me sad for some reason. You know he didnt want to do it.
I do remember Twilight princess didn't really surprise me with who pops up, but goes they did the final fights made me happy.
The ending of FFXIII took me by surprise.
It ended with me snapping the disc in two then repeatedly bashing my head with the wardrobe door.
