I first read the title as "Pike Plays Literally Every Game Ever." I can only assume that that will be the natural evolution of this thread.

Other than the initial look of the board and pieces, I can assure you that Archon has nothing to do with chess! The fighting bits feel more like an oldschool platform game than anything. It's all top-down. And it's difficult to describe. xD

I've been meaning to write up a bit more on Antichamber but I keep having things to do or whatnot. I'll do it today when I get home from work.

Assassin's Creed is an interesting series for me. On the one side, I've poured quite a bit of time into the games because they're pretty fun. On the other hand, they never quite grabbed me enough to make me one of those superfans. And despite all the time I've spent on the games, I've never actually beaten an Assassin's Creed game. So my relationship with the series is kind of interesting.

Anyways, enough banter! Let's play this thing!

Okay time to actually get this thing started.

Now we have this Bri'ish man who happens to be a bit of a dickhead. I asked Huxley for the most British insult he can think of so I can refer to him as such, and he said "a gormless ponce". (He also helpfully suggested "tosser", "wanker", "git", "pillock", "plonker", "muppet", "bellend", "knobhead", "arsehole", "berk", "divot", "pikey", "prat", "tosspot", "uphill gardener", and "billy no-mates")

Finally I get to jack in to the AssCreed Matrix and be Ezio, which is pretty awesome. I beat up like twenty guys and then went around and looted them while they were all curled up in the fetal positions crying.

Oh hey, the game is finally officially starting!

I did a couple of quests, one of which involved meeting some chick and promptly pressing A to and pressing B to . Later I looked her up in my database and promptly LOL'd.

    Because I am a turbonerd.

I was having fun and wanted to keep playing but it's just about my bedtime, so maybe more tomorrow!

    THE VERDICT:

    • You'll probably already know if you like this game or not
    • It's the most popular Assassin's Creed game and arguably the best
    • (although personally IV is my fave)
    • Parkour, stealth, be Italian
    • The works

I really liked AssCreed 2. Lord knows why I even gave it a chance since AssCreed put me to sleep, but I am glad I did. Had a lot more fun with it.

Aquaria is a game I wanted to like, but I thought it was bad.

Antichamber is a first-person puzzle game where geometry doesn't work properly. It's hard to describe, other than get your headache medicine ready. Not kidding. This game gave me a splitting headache after I marathoned through it.

I'm in a similar situation as you, Pike. I enjoyed Assassin's Creed when I play them (even the beginning of III), but at the same time they don't grab me either. I don't feel compelled to get the next installment as soon as they come out.

Press A to take a trout needs to be a feature now.

Yeah, Antichamber is interesting - it's a puzzle game but I feel like it's not a "traditional" puzzle game. The puzzles feel more - not cerebral, per se, but I had to approach them differently than I do other puzzle games.

    It's really interesting.

    Dancing Chocobo

    Atom Zombie Smasher
    Tactical/Zombies/Sort of Tower Defense
    Steam Link

This is a vaguely tower-defense style game where you kill zombies. It's all done top down, like so:

    atom1.jpg

As you go along you get to unlock fun things to kill and/or troll zombies with (such as snipers, dynamite, missiles, and so forth), as well as upgrades, and your goal in every round is to get as many civilians evacuated as possible. The more you rescue, and the more zombies you kill, the more points you get.

    atom2.jpg

(the pink dots are zombies and the golden ones are civilians)

It's actually a lot of fun. I'd definitely recommend this one to people who like RTS and tower defense style games (it's sort of a blend of both genres, with a tiny bit of X-Com thrown in for flavor).

    THE VERDICT:

    • Fun
    • Catchy music
    • Has a South American/Tex-Mex theme out of nowhere which is kind of fun
    • RTS/Tower Defense hybrid
    • Good stuff for zombie fans
    • Good stuff even for non-zombie fans
    • If you see it for cheap you should snag it

This game is great. It's incredible, actually. The fun really starts to ramp up in the later stages especially.

Yeah, having put a few hours into it, it's a real blast.

So I have the next game on my list installed and ready to go, buuut it turns out I'm still having too much fun playing Assassin's Creed II, so maybe tomorrow?

Dan if this means you have your 360 in Japan then you'd better get your Broad Midlands - How I Wish I was a Brummie and not from Scumverhampton speaking ass on XBL with us sometime instead of being too busy taking small Japanese penises up your butt!

Totally get you with ACII - I enjoyed it. I didn't love it, it wasn't game of the year or anything, but next thing I know I have done everything in the game and got Platinum because it's just fun to keep ACII'ing ACII.

PS. Gormless ponce grew on me and in the end. Great character.

would like to see more of your AC2 adventures itbt. also props to Hux, Gormless Ponce is the perfect summation of the man.

also Steve I'm working on it, although I would prefer if you would drop the offensive and cliched stereotyping, Japanese guys do not participate in bumlove.

AC4 was my favourite AC. They reworked the slightly stale AC formula and did something kinda cool with it.
