I have some of these games Also, I will second what Spuuky said, if you manage to get through your entire library, and he gets through his that doesn't overlap yours, I'll go through mine (what I can anyway, cause this computer lacks the power to play high end games) and do the same thing for any that aren't on your guys's. And given that my library is at 672 (653 not counting free games) I have a feeling there'll be some not overlapped xD.

As for the games, I've played 10,000,000 and it is quite great, And Yet It Moves is meh, and I rented AP on 360 and it was pretty fun.

I haven't played And Yet It Moves, but Matt has - he says it was pretty bad.

I have roughly 15 games in my Steam library and I could not do what you, Spuuky and now Tassles are committing yourselves to purely on the basis of me having to actually stop playing Football Manager at some point to carry on with the other games.

Haven't read your Alan Wake one as I have that game and intend on playing it sometime and have this thing about loving playing games 'blind'.

I'm probably in the minority, but I didn't think And Yet It Moves was bad so much as uninspiring and mediocre. There were some clever puzzles, but it's still not really worth playing to get to them. I got it in a humble bundle & that's probably the best way to get it.

Edit: glad you guys are enjoying the thread

    Dancing Chocobo

    Anomaly Warzone Earth
    Strategy/Tower Defense/Reverse Tower Defense
    Steam Link

And this is where I would put my screenshots... IF I HAD ANY

So yeah, the game refused to take any screenshots. Any screenshots that I took were just blank white. Sorry friends.

This is a reverse tower defense game, where you control the mobs and try to get through a bunch of towers. Your job is to keep your units safe and buy new ones.

    It's hard.

It's also very addictive, and very fun. But balls hard even on the easiest difficulty.

Here's a screenshot I snagged off of Wikipedia:

    Anomaly_Warzone_Earth.jpg

    THE VERDICT:

    • Hard
    • Really hard
    • Really really hard
    • Fun
    • If you like tower defense games at all you should get it when it's on sale
    • it's a fun twist on the genre
    • doesn't like my computer monitor? (since it's not a widescreen )
    • doesn't like screenshots
    • Cute British girl

Well the airplanes weren't dropping the right items and it was making me upset!

I did get a ways into the game but quit because I was getting angry at the airplanes, haha.

You had me at reverse tower defense. Spuuky informed me that you can get this game for free via http://www.indiegamebundles.com/free...warzone-earth/, not sure how much longer but it works for now. Thanks Spuuky.

Awesome. If that link still works I recommend that everyone get it while they can because it's a really fun game.

    Dancing Chocobo

    Aquaria
    Metroidvania/Adventure/Exploration
    Steam Link

So in this game you play some sort of water sprite. You swim around and it's really comfy and cozy.

    aquaria1.JPG

Ecco the Dolphin vibes happen pretty much right from the start.

    aquaria2.JPG

You can learn songs (Ocarina of Time style), which you can then sing to accomplish varying things, such as giving yourself a shield or moving rocks around in order to explore new areas.

    aquaria3.JPG

Speaking of exploration, I feel like that's a pretty big part of the game. A story starts to unfold, but frankly all I want to do is clear out every unexplored area on the map (the map lets you know where you haven't been to yet.)

    aquaria4.JPG

There are a lot of little things to do, like collect food ingredients so you can cook them, find magical artifacts, and so on.

    aquaria5.JPG

But come on, the point of this game is exploring in a comfy and relaxing environment.

    aquaria6.JPG

It's pretty metroidvania, and I have a feeling that this game is going to ramp up in difficulty at some point if it truly is as Ecco-ish as it feels. But frankly I'm in no rush to get there because just swimming around is nice.

    THE VERDICT:

    • Comfy
    • Relaxing
    • Cute British Girl (another one)
    • I feel like this style of game was meant to be played with a controller but the UI is not built for one
    • You can use a controller anyway, it's just awkward
    • Overall good and fun to play

    Archon: Classic
    Strategy/Board Game/Retro
    Steam Link

You either grew up playing Archon or you didn't, and I certainly did, which meant that this game was a delightful nostalgia fest. Unlike many other remakes of retro games, Archon: Classic is pretty much the an exact copy original game under the hood; it's just got a shiny new coat of paint and a modern remix of the theme song (which is awesome by the way). I think there are options to let you play with new mechanics, but I just dove right into the oldschool mode and was not disappointed.

    archon1.jpg

(this is the only screenshot you get because, as with some previous games, this game hates screenshots and they didn't work most of the time.)

For the unfortunate among you who haven't played the original classic game, this is a board game that looks superficially similar to chess, but the similarities end there. Basically you fight for your right to own a square: every time you land on a square that is already occupied, the game switches to an arcade-style battle. Different game pieces have different abilities and some are considerably more powerful than others, but don't be fooled: if you're careful and know what you're doing, you can make a longshot matchup work for you.

There are also spells to cast (in limited numbers) that allow you to summon elementals to fight for you, revive a piece of your choice, teleport across the board, and so forth.

    C64_Archon.png

(have a screenshot from the original amazing game in all its C64 glory)

You win by occupying all the power points on the board (five particular marked spaces), which is easier said than done because each team starts out with their most powerful piece parked in one of those slots, and that slot is always advantageous to that team (as the game goes on different spaces on the board grant bonuses to a different factions).

If it sounds complicated, it's because it both is and isn't at the same time. It's easy to learn and a delight to play - this is one classic that has certainly held up, and the retro sound effects (which I think were lifted right from the original game) and the option to play it with the old-school graphics is just icing on the cake for nostalgia-hounds like myself.

    THE VERDICT:
    • 10 out of freaking 10
    • Faithful remake of one of the best gems of the early 80s
    • FUN
    • If you liked the original, you should get this
    • If you haven't played the original I still recommend it
    • Come see what all the fuss is about
    • ~retro~

WHY DID I NOT ENTER THIS THREAD BEFORE. It's awesome.

I really, really, really, REALLY want to play Antichamber. I've been intrigued since I first saw it. Yet, I don't have windows

Antichamber intrigues me with your lack of information.

Aquaria looks okay. I don't think I'd enjoy it for very long, though, for some reason.

I did not grow up on Archon. I am slightly below average at chess (despite loving it as a kid) and too impatient to spend time improving myself in that regard. I suppose this would mean Archon might be for me, but ehhhh, dunno. Not a fan of fighting games and this has a bit of that kind of feel, too.
