Default Go and Get Married in Final Fantasy XIV Now!

Patch 2.45 dropped yesterday for the players of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Unlike most mini patches like this, where not a great deal is usually added and it's mostly a lot of technical fixes and debuffs; Patch 2.45 came with a massive and heavily anticipated new feature... the Eternal Bond System! Yep, you can now marry someone in Eorzea! Squee!

    Some newlyweds /embrace each other!

There has been a lot added this time around to make the Eternal Bond system pretty flash. For a start, you can now use the /embrace emote which was just added, as well as a story quest to unlock the ceremony. Of course, you can't just go and get married to your beau on a whim; you must first fill out an application over at the Mogstation and choose an allotted time.

Controversially, the Eternal Bond system comes at a price. You can opt for the Standard Plan, and have the ceremony cost nothing, but you're not going to get as much as if you pay real money for the Gold Plan ($10 per person), or the Platinum Plan ($20 per person). Up for grabs with the Platinum Plan is a special Wedding Chocobo mount, a special gift for your guests, heart confetti, and more choices for carpet and flower colours. With the Standard Plan, your guests will get nothing, you won't get a fancy mount and your ceremony type will be predetermined. You can check out the full details here.

There are a few more things that you can get in Patch 2.45 in game too! A lot of skills have been changed, and Stoneskin II has been added as a level 50 Conjurer ability; Creates a barrier around self and all party members near you that absorbs damage totaling 18% of maximum HP. Cannot be cast while in combat, or on a target engaged in combat.
    Duration: 30m - YEY!

For glamour and accessory fans, a cute Spriggan Cap can now be obtained from completing Treasure Maps!

A lot of glamour items have also been added to the cash shop. This is mostly the festive gear which includes the Sweet Dreams attire, a Reindeer suit, and a Snowman suit. They all cost around $5 each to buy. It's worth mentioning though, that the Sweet Dreams attire was once free in game, and can be purchased on the Marketboard. As well as cute suits, you can also grab metallic dyes in other hues including purple, red, and blue for $1 in the cash shop!

Are you ready to get Married in Eorzea? Think you'll fork out and pay some real money for the privilege of a few extra things?
