I'm of course talking about Imp/Goblin, Bomb, Cockatrice, and Mindflayer? You can't get them all in the American SNES version but the later games have all restored the ability to get them. So who spent the time to grind them all and get them?

True beauty exists in things that last only for a moment.
Current Mood: Step out the front door like a ghost into the fog Where no one notices the contrast of white on white And in between the moon and you, the angels get a better view Of the crumbling difference between wrong and right

Nope, couldn't be bothered. To my knowledge they weren't as powerful as what I had, nor did they look cooler.
>>Am willing to change opinions based on data<<
I've randomly gotten a few of them here & there. I think the first time I got them, I didn't know what to do w/ them, so I just kept them in my inventory.
I got the bomb or the Imp one I think on my first playthrough of the Chronicles version, but I remember it being pretty bad so I never bothered with it. You randomly get one during a battle right?
Yes, all four are randomly dropped by the enemies or their palette swaps, I think the exception is Bomb which is only dropped by the Black palette swapped variants on the moon.
Mindflayer is surprisingly useful, especially in the DS versions since his Paralyze has almost 100% accuracy and very few things in the game are immune to the status effect.

I didn't get any of them. It was my first time playing the game last month too, so I wasn't even aware they existed.
