Actually, I wasn't including FF1's Cid, and was instead referencing Mystic Quest's Cid. But, semantics.

As for Metagloria's riddle, the "One, two, three, four" part makes me immediately think of Level 4 limit breaks, but I'm not really sure how any of them would apply to the rest of the riddle. Give me a bit, and I'll come up with a guess.

Is it the ducts in the Mount Nibel passage? Where if you don't pick the right ones, you miss out on a materia?

I was thinking along those lines too, but I am not sure if that answer makes much sense in the context of the riddle as a whole.

Oh, perhaps I know. It's in Midgar, Shinra headquarters. There's a puzzle on floor 67 or something, where you have to crawl through ducts to get 2/3 items, which includes an all-materia. But you can never get all 3.

It's a Star Pendant, Four Slots and an All materia. You can definitely get all three though.

Still worth a shot though, especially with the ducts clue!

I think that is item B which relates to the vitamin B line. Also it fits with the first line.

Ah ha! Yes! All that's blue will go to waste. If you use four slots then blue (support) materia won't work.

Damn, my first thought was actually related to that section of the game. I didn't specifically think 4 slots, but I was awfully close. I just misinterpreted the riddle and let that throw me off the trail. Well done riddle!
